PHYSICAL COMMODITY TRADER – ENTRY LEVEL

Job Description

SUMMARY

As a Physical Commodity  Trader at US Commodities, you learn how to handle all aspects of trade origination and execution in dynamic global agricultural commodities markets such as corn, soy, organics and related products. You interact daily with manufacturers, users and associated supply-chain actors to achieve superior price discovery, trading decisions and trade execution. Commodity Traders at US Commodities get almost immediate decision-making responsibility, while working in the fast-paced, exciting and ever-changing world of global commodity trading.

  • Ability to spot a value
  • Entrepreneurial inclination and strong work ethic with the ability work independently to grow the business
  • Intelligent yet naturally intuitive – The ability to make (generally correct) decisions with incomplete facts
  • The personal character to admit a mistake early and change course when necessary
  • Good interpersonal skills with some selling ability
  • Ability to manage details effectively
  • Naturally curious with a good sense of “confident humility”
  • Appreciation for a rewards-based compensation system overlaying a competitive salary and benefits package
  • Four-year degree, any major (certain exceptions available)
 

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time position.  Typical hours of work are Monday through Friday from 8:00am –

4:30pm and may fluctuate with business needs. US Commodities operates

in time-sensitive, global markets, so the exigencies of the business may alter working hours.

frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and may occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to

25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability

to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position operates in a professional office environment and requires routine usage of standard office

equipment including, but not limited to, computer, phone (landline and/or mobile device), photocopier,

filing cabinets, and fax machines.  While performing the essential duties of this job, the noise level in the

work environment is usually moderate to boisterous.
