US Commodities Resumes Shipping Feed Ingredients into Puerto Rico

US Commodities is pleased to announce that we have restarted shipping feed ingredients into San Juan, Puerto Rico after the September 20th hurricane Maria. With over 40% of the population still without power after 100 days, it makes a Minnesota winter day seem tolerable. With the help of a private donor, USC is providing personal water filtration systems to some of the hardest-hit areas.

Most feed mills on the island were down for over two weeks with no way to grind feed. Some feed mills are still on generators and are only able to run for 12 hours a day. USC has resumed shipping whole cotton seed, alfalfa pellets and hay bales at the same rate as before the hurricane. We also have our first 2018 bulk oat shipment from Finland due to arrive in the last half of January. We continue to keep San Juan at the forefront of our thoughts and hope that progress continues to restore San Juan to its former beauty.
